A Little Faith Can Go A Long Way

Earlier Today, I came across this story. It's about a small puppy named Jax.

This is a great story with a happy ending.

We got him on Saturday August 6th. The following day,my girlfriend had to leave for New York. That same morning, he began vomiting and diarrhea. I took him to the emergency clinic, and he tested positive for parvo and a few other things. He weighed 15 pounds that day. The vet wanted $2400 to treat him for 6 days and gave him a 50/50 chance of survival. He recommended putting him down. I called my friend that owns his own veterinarian clinic and he recommended the same thing. I phoned the people who we purchased the puppy from and they said they would give me my money back if I returned him and they will put him down.

I decided that I might as well try to save him regardless of what they all said. I took care of him that day by squirting pedialyte in him (orally and enema) every 15 minutes, day and night! The following day was a Monday and I took my week of vacation from work.

Unbelieveable! Shot and Buried Alive Yet She Still Survives

In Malta just like many European countries, it's common to see strays roaming freely. Someone obviously didn't like a cute black and white dog named Star. Not only did that person shoot her 40 times in the head with a pellet gun, but also buried her alive in the sand. People discovered her nose poking through the sand.

Many people in Malta are incensed about this. In addition to stiffening the penalty for animal cruelty, a Facebook page has been created to find the individual responsible for the pain this dog as suffered.

As for Star? Luckily, a Maltese family will be adopting her but will not be able her to get her right away, since she needs extra time to recover from the trauma. At least she will have a happy ending.

Dog Plunges 300 feet And Survives

On a winter afternoon in England, Lia Markwick and Stephen Winslade were taking Poppy, out for a walk. They were walking the dog as a favor to her brother. Out of the corner of Poppy's Eye, she chased a seagull and continued to chase after it, falling 300 feet off of Seven Sisters' Cliff. It had happened so quickly, the couple assumed the worst but when they looked over they saw her dog paddling in the water.

Calling the coast guard, it was their effort with the RNLI, a voluntary rescue organization based in the UK, that helped bring this dog to safety. She was found clinging on a rock and was brought to safety. The odds of the dog surviving was slim to none and here again, yet she survived with only a partially collapsed lung that normalized on its own in 24 hours.

It turned out that she ran after that seagull with enough force that she cleared the beach area underneath so there was enough water to cushion her fall. She also caught the tide at the right point to bring her in close to keep her from drowning. This was truly a miracle.

Hi TKD Fans! I'm back sooner than I thought to tell you these two stories that I was compelled to share. These stories take place on the two coasts. One is good, one is bad, both are unbelievable.

The good one is the story of a 35-year-old woman named Krisna Torress saving her neighbor's chihuahua from choking to death. How did she do it? She did it by giving the dog CPR. Even more incredible was the fact that she was able to do so by watching it on tv. Catch more of the story at this site.

The not-so-good one was printed in the New York Daily News. It tells the story of Oreo, a one-year-old terrier mix who was thrown from a six-story building. The perpetrator was a nineteen-year-old named Fabian Henderson. There were at least one previous complaint to the ASPCA that the dog was being beaten. (Obviously, this teen had some anger management issues.) To top it off, he actually said the dog jumped off the side of the building. Never mind the fact that there were at two neighbors who called in the crime to the ASPCA and the fact that the wall was almost 3 feet 8 inches (1.2 meters) high. Oreo was a 45 pound female.
